El Penon de Guatape

We walked to the top of El Penon….all 740 steps. Good job we had somewhere nice to stay to recover at Hotel Zocalo just beneath it..with Ellie and Sneider.

Worlds Tallest Palms

A visit to Salento and the Cocora Valley to see Colombia's National Tree and symbol....the Wax Palm....also the tallest palms in the World.

Cascada Fin del Mundo, Mocoa

Peering over the edge of Cascada Fin del Mundo in Mocoa.

Hotel Dantayaco

We stayed at Hotel Dantayaco in Mocoa run by a fabulous, friendly family. A great place only 100 metres from the entrance of Cascada Fin del Mundo...….and monkeys....there's monkeys....😀

Salto de Bordones

Viewing Salto de Bordones, Colombia's tallest uninterrupted waterfall at almost 400 metres.

El Perutal

The only coloured statues from the 6th Century at El Perutal found amongst the various archeological sites around San Agustin.

Crocodile Rock

Found in 1974-1975 an unusual crocodile shaped rock not normally found in this area.Can be viewed at the Alto de Los Idolos site near San Agustin.

Estrecho del Magdalena

After heavy rainfall the Rio Magdalena was in full flow....we didn't stand there very long !!!

Cafe Organico Kutanga

Visiting Gumer on his small organic coffee farm on the outskirts of San Agustin....be sure to book a visit and have a cup of Cafe Organico Kutanga.

Popayan

Popayan, the white city, lots of whitewashed buildings. Also the UNESCO first city of Gastronomy. Has links to England too. The clocktower in Caldas Park houses a clock made in Croydon, England.

Las Lajas by night

Ending 'The Mighty Colombia' on a spectacular note....Our last night....Did I mention it lights up. An absolute must to return to Las Lajas and see it lit up......watch the light show, it constantly changes colours.

Las Lajas, Ipiales

Las Lajas...built between 1916 and 1949 this most impressive Roman Catholic Church is well worth visiting, steeped in stories of legends and miracles.
