Winnipeg to Grande Cache

Sooo.....we made it to Winnipeg last Friday (16th June) and had a lovely evening with a new friend we met waiting for the ferry to Newfoundland. Brian had kindly offered us lodgings when we passed through 'The Peg'. Here we met Lee his lovely 'other half' and whiled away the evening telling biking tales and Lee and Brian making suggestions of 'Where to go next'.

We left Brian and Lee with fond memories and off we went again....resuming our perpetual riding of the 'Trans Canada Highway'. After calling in at Medicine Hat,we ended up at 'Dinosaur Provincial Park'...... a location provided by my Canadian cousins Candice and Daniel who had just driven across Canada with their daughters Edie and Zoe. It was worth it........ you were right Candi......after constant riding across the plains it was a welcome relief.....beautiful x.

Next stop....... 'Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground'...... a location suggested by Lee and Brian. Here we were warmly welcomed by Mary ( Proprietor) who showed us to our camping area. This is a real 'Old School' bikers campsite. Check it out by clicking on the name above.

From here we started heading towards Calgary to attempt to try and meet one of Chris's friends who is cycling down to Mexico I think. On the way we stopped off at a Buffalo Jump'.....'Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump' to be precise......a sad monument to 'the old ways of hunting'. Although we made it to Calgary the Wi Fi connections being what they are, we were unable to contact Tony and his partner so we're going to try and catch them at a later date. Ever onwards we rode to Jasper through parts of 'The Rockies'.....persistently stopping ...... to get 'that photo'.... lol. We saw more bears and elk and glaciers....lots of glaciers.....it even tried to snow at one point...really...yes ...really.

Where have we ended up.....for tonight... Grande Cache. Tomorrow we continue towards.....ALASKA.
