From Bears to Sturgeon and Osprey...
From Fish Creek we hit the road again. We were heading on down to Vancouver for the weekend with family. Anyway routes down were changed due to forest fires in Canada. Most of the fires were down the 97....our planned route.....no worries we were diverted to the 5 and carried on. After a couple of nights in random sites off the road we arrived in Lillooet. Again we stayed at another small friendly campsite on the banks of the River Fraser. This was fab......we watched fishermen catching Sturgeon and to my delight they photographed themselves with them and let them go.....brilliant. A bit further up river but visible to us was an Osprey on it's nest with two chicks as well.......a wonderful sight made even better when we discovered that we could drive across the rickety old bridge that it was nested on....to pop into town for our tea. They never flinched and practically posed for Chris to take photos.
Whilst we were here we also took advantage of the heat.......something we hadn't had much of.....paddling in the Fraser and then the campsite owner told us just up the road we could swim. Lake Seton....beautiful.....a little cold for me...Chris was straight in....I had to cook a little further before dunking myself in the clear waters......cracking lazy afternoon.
