Minatitlan To Playa Del Carmen........

After our overnighter in Minatitlan we hit the road again ending the riding approx. 222 miles later at a place called Ciudad del Carmen, on the coast of The Gulf of Mexico.......where we discovered a surprise......

After the usual unload, check in routine...by the way it was a good ride to here apart from one road block......anyways....the surprise....

Chris had gone back down to the car park to lock the bikes up.......when he re-appeared I could hear voices in the corridor....I opened the door to find Chris with a 'Robinson Crusoe' looking fella......ha,ha.....it was only Vincent the Irish....I had to look twice......so pleased to see him again.....he'd been up to alsorts since we last saw him......you can read Vincent's blog at rideliveexplore.....and his Facebook page at Ride-Live-Explore.....you know what to do...just click on anything underlined.

It was purely by chance we'd ended up in the same hotel.....Vince was going for a shave.....lol.....his friend Susie was flying in from Amsterdam for six weeks to join the 'Ride Live Explore Team......we were looking forwards to meeting her. Anyways teatime now so we as in Vince, Chris and I all had our tea together, swapping travel stories until late.

Morning came and we got to meet Susie....'Hiya Susie' if you're reading xx......wonderful....it's hard to eat breakfast when all you want to do is chat......later that morning we went our separate ways, hoping to meet up in Playa del Carmen at some point over Christmas and New Year.

Another little surprise though.....don't want to give too much away for stories later.....but getting to Colombia is going to be fun......isn't it Vince????

So another overnighter done.....off we go again...heading inland slightly to cut across to Playa Del Carmen our next stop found us in Merida. Nothing much to report here but again we are ahead of ourselves so I need to find somewhere nice to stay for a couple of days........done.

It's now Thursday 21st December 2017 and we're not expected at Playa until the 23rd....well we can't get into the apartment that's booked until then.... so todays ride finds an end at a lovely little Eco hotel in Akumal run by a lovely Italian family. Villa Morena Eco Living.......a great stop for a few days before Christmas....fabulous food.

The stay here was really enjoyable.....we were lucky to get in so close to Christmas and with family dogs and cats....yey.

And so....it's the 23rd of December.....off we go to Playa del Carmen.....a holiday from the trip of our lifetime and a special person flying in to share it with....we're off to meet Tasha...Chris's sister.....so who's going to get to the apartment first then??????..........
